Data Migration

 

Inta-Act has many years of experience in extracting data from other systems and platforms.

We can assist in migrating your existing data into ACT!, and have written in house code for countless systems to migrate data including notes, history’s, attachments and activities from other systems into ACT!

We have successfully extracted data from many other sources that include:
Access, Excel, Outlook, FoxPro, Dbase systems, SQL databases, AS400, Text feeds, Apple Mac etc.

If you are an existing ACT! User we can assist in converting your database to the latest version. We have tools which can convert ACT! 6 groups to ACT 2007 company records and re-create membership. We can convert any previous version of ACT! back to ACT! 2.0 if necessary.

Database Design

 

Inta-Act have been designing, customising and building ACT! databases for over ten years across virtually all industrial sectors.

We can give valuable advice and recommendations based on this experience, to provide our clients with the best and most relevant database structure for their business. Planning and preparation are extremely important to any software implementation. Understanding your company's business and objectives is key to success, we will spend time discussing your requirements to ensure that the ACT! System meets the needs of your organisation.

Standard "Out of the Box" reports are available, we will be able to advise you if these are suitable for your company or if to meet your requirements customisation will be required. If necessary Inta-Act can produce a bespoke tool to produce reports to your exact specifications. (Please see development tab above.)

It is essential that your hardware and system configuration comply with the requirements of the ACT! Software, please check our IT Specification Sheet for more information. Inta-Act will be happy to carry out a full survey of the hardware and advise if the specification of the machines are adequate in order that the ACT! software runs in an efficient and trouble free manner.

An audit of your system will make sure that you are running the correct operating system, MS Office Platform and correct versions of any third party applications.

  
ACT! Software Installation
 

Inta-Act provides a full installation and configuration service, ensuring your ACT! System works efficiently and effectively from the beginning.

ACT! is installed on each workstation and the preferences set to ensure that all users see the same ACT! interface, database, reports and templates. In addition Inta-Act can set up your ACT! installation so remote users can synchronise using the LAN, VPN or Intranet. Install and configure for access via the web ACT! Premium For Web. We will set up the security rights for each individual user allowing them access to the records within the your Act Database that you have authorised.

We will ensure that the workstations and servers have all appropriate patches and updates applied to optimise the performance of your ACT! system.

Once the server and client installation are complete then the data from any existing data sources can be imported.
Inta-Act will carry out a thorough testing from all workstations and remedy any unforeseen problems. Synchronisation
will be thoroughly tested to ensure that remote users have the correct number of contacts within their ACT! Database.

If you have a database in a previous version of ACT! we can ensure that the conversion to ACT 2007 family is completed successfully.

We can also advise your IT department or Support Provider on the technical requirements and infrastructure required for ACT! to run smoothly.
